Authority Bias

Definition:
Authority bias is the tendency to trust information from perceived experts or institutions over personal judgment.

Usage Context:
Used in branding, expert endorsements, institutional messaging, and algorithmic ranking.

Critical Note:
Authority is often implied rather than earned. Trust is redirected toward systems with vested interests.
